People climbing the corporate ladder often covet the high office of the Chief Executive. The CEO holds the responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day running of the company. The role carries responsibility for how the company is performing overall.
The CEO is responsible for ensuring that the organisation is delivering on, it's agreed set of goals and objectives. Holding the position of CEO often includes being a director of the company, and from a reporting line, many CEO's regularly report into a Chairperson.
Making Decisions as CEO
CEOs make decisions all the time. The CEO is responsible for delivering the all-important goals of the company. Correctly deploying the resources at your disposal in the correct areas at the right time can require skill, experience, judgment, and sometimes even a little luck!
Communication skills
Not only does the CEO need to communicate with the Chairperson, the board of directors, operational heads of departments, managers, and staff throughout the organization, there are customers to consider too!
Add to this the communications required with the markets, shareholders, investors, regulatory bodies, industry organisations, the role of communication is a central area for a CEO. The CEO has to promote the company's culture, values, and behaviours.
