Good leaders make a difference

Good Leadership Traits

Good leaders make a difference. People like to be around, learn from and follow good leadership. When you look at what makes a good leader some of the following traits are often visible.

Being Self Aware as a Leader

Self-awareness is being conscious of what you are particularly good at while at the same time being able to acknowledge what you still have yet to learn.

Being Authentic as a Leader

People can really sense the authenticity of a person, or more precisely spot someone who is not the genuine article. Without it, short term results can be achieved however with authentic leadership you can create long-term results.

Leaders admit when they are wrong

Good leaders do not blame others for their own failures but are more open to admit their mistakes. By being open and honest about mistakes helps to demonstrate leadership and can share with people the desire to not repeat them in future.

It often takes a team of people

People who elevate themselves on the shoulders of others can claim all of the success. Leaders never look to take all the credit for their success. They often speak about it being a team effort and communicate how they appreciate everyone for part that they have played.

Leaders are often agile and flexible

A good leader is flexible in today’s world. In order to succeed in the ever changing and extremely demanding environments, leaders must possess the ability to be flexible to cope with changes.

Leaders demonstrate humility

A leader who demonstrates humility is more realistic towards challenges and problems and often works hard to resolve them. Leaders can spot that they do not know all the answers and seek help to accomplish the goals.
