Kung Pik Liu
Kung Pik Liu (Pik) is an expert in brand design and women's health empowerment. As a passionate advocate for femtech and women's health and wellness, Pik is committed to helping femtech companies grow faster and more meaningfully. With only 3% of digital health venture investments going into the space, women need more healthcare as they have more frequent and complex needs than men. Worse, when woman founders ask for funding, they get less than their male counterparts.
Pik believes she can do her part to help femtech professionals market themselves better, spread awareness to other women, and promote femtech companies through her branding and content services and her Halo Femtech Podcast. As the founder of Design Angel, a branding firm specializing in femtech companies, Pik has worked with selected clients such as Medidata, Reify Health, Famlee, Sydnesi Health, and DriveScale (acquired by Twitter in 2021).
After nearly 20 years in the industry, Pik believes that design has the power to elevate brands and instil confidence. She believes that companies must "dress for success" to communicate their message authentically and confidently. Pik helps femtech companies who need to upgrade their brands to attract customers, look up to par to get taken seriously and launch a new product through her brand consultations, strategy sessions, practical action plans, unique brand identity development, visual brand implementations, on-demand design support, and on-demand chief brand officer (CBO) support.
Pik is committed to being helpful and genuine, and doing meaningful work, supporting femtech and women-led startups. She is a graphic designer turned brand strategist, marketer, and entrepreneur. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and Graphic Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and an Associate's Degree in Applied Science in Advertising Design from FIT. She also studied abroad for a semester at the London College of Communication. Currently, Pik lives in Southern California with her husband and two children.
