Judie Russell
Judie Russell is the Founder of The Vidacademy, a company that has trained thousands of professionals and businesses. She is a versatile and accomplished professional with a diverse video production and training background. Judie earned her Master's in Business Economics from University College Cork and spent the next five years living and working in 11 countries, from New Zealand to the United States.
In Costa Rica, Russell landed her dream job as a Broadcasting Journalist, leading a team of six while producing and presenting over 100 minutes of live and prerecorded video content weekly. Upon returning to Ireland, she earned a diploma in TV Production and subsequently directed, produced, presented, and edited a weekly magazine show broadcast on SKYtv.
Judie also worked as an editor on RTE's longest-running hidden camera show, "The Fear," and was part of the small team behind the box office hit "The Young Offenders," which became the fastest Irish film to reach the one million euro mark at the box office in 2016. Her expertise in video production led her to speak at MojoCon, the world's largest mobile journalism conference, where she shared insights on filming a pilot TV show using the iPhone and discussed setting up The Vidacademy.
In addition to her work in video production, Russell lectured part-time at University College Cork's Economics Department, specifically in the Communicating Economic Reasoning module. She also worked with UCC Academy, the university's in-house consultancy, as a Project Manager for five years before setting up and leading the Video Team.
Today, Russell runs The Vidacademy, a video training company that provides coaching, consultancy, and online training courses on video production. She helps professionals and organisations create regular video content in-house, sharing her wealth of experience and knowledge in the industry.
