Elaina Ryan

Elaina Ryan is CEO of Children's Books Ireland, a national organisation whose mission is to make books a part of every child's life. Elaina has a children's publishing background and an MLitt in Publishing from the University of Stirling. She is the former Managing Editor of Little Island books, where she worked closely with Ireland's inaugural Laureate na nÓg, Siobhán Parkinson. She is Co-Artistic Director, with Niamh Sharkey, of Towers and Tales, the Lismore Story Festival in County Waterford.

Children’s Books Ireland is the national charity and arts organisation that champions every child’s right to develop a love of reading. Through their many activities and events, the organisation aims to engage young people with books, foster a greater understanding of the importance of books for young people and act as a core resource for those with an interest in books for children in Ireland.
