What do you like about your career or area of focus?
Every day is different, there is always something changing which means you have to be extremely flexible and nimble to make sure to adapt to each change and challenge.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
The work you do will define you at the end of the day, so make sure you do something that you love.
What inspires you, motivates you, or helps you to move forward?
The people around me and my family.
What are you proud of in your life so far?
Leaving to learn about agriculture through the corona.
What is your preferred way to meet new people/network?
Meeting people on social networks such as LinkedIn or Shapr are great apps, however, through my life, I have learnt that some of the greatest ways to meet people are through moments of spontaneity whether it is when you're on a train or waiting in a queue. Speak to everyone because that is how you meet new people and have new experiences.
What skills or qualities do you feel have helped you?
Empathy, love, passion, acceptance, diversity.
What do you wish you had known when you started out?
To enjoy more.
Who do you most admire in business, academic or creative circles and why?
The openness to share and willingness to help one another.
Outside of your professional/work area, what hobbies or interests do you have or what other areas of your life are of real importance to you?
I enjoy reading a lot, trying new food, and I love to travel to the most random small cities in Europe to explore architecture and small bars. In the Spring and Summer, I am part of the World Organic Farming Organisation, I go to farms abroad and volunteer with harvesting and maintenance on farms.
Has the pandemic had a positive or a negative effect on you and/or your business, and how have you managed it?
Positive - mostly, more networking.
Do you have a mentor, or have you ever mentored anyone?
Yes, I do.
What advice would you have for someone looking to get into the same area of work or interests?
Be 100% sure you want to do what you want to do, any spec of self-doubt will create a constant discomfort in the work you do. If you are true to yourself you will do work that you enjoy doing, not just for money but for yourself.
What do you feel is the most common reason for people failing or giving up?
Lack of passion or understanding of what their strengths and weaknesses are. Understand what you are good at and roll with it.
Is there a phrase, quote or a saying that you really like?
"Good is the enemy of great."
What companies, brands, or institutions do you like or do you think are getting it right?
Nike, The North Face, Patagonia.
How do you define success, and what lessons have you learned so far that you could share with our audience/readership?
Success is not something that comes overnight - it takes months, if not years, of discipline, self-motivation, dedication and passion for doing what you want to do. I learn very quickly that the hardships you go through will make you stronger than the regular days. Never forget these hard days.
